A native of Newcastle Upon Tyne, born in 1958 in Byker, the second youngest of six children. My earliest memories of growing up has always encompassed a fascination with drawing and painting. On leaving school at sixteen I followed my passion for art into the advertising industry, working firstly as a photographer/darkroom technician and then as a Graphic artist. After a number of years working in this industry I drifted away into other careers, but still maintained a love for drawing and painting. Now that I am reaching retirement age, my art has come to the fore again.
I draw inspiration from everything around me, especially the evocative and beautiful Northumberland coastline. This influence is evident in a substantial amount of my work.
