Whilst all my artwork is created in pastel, the subject matters and technical execution of each piece can vary widely. I like variety and to explore different subject matters brings new challenges, which I feel is important to me as an Artist. My fascination in depicting movement is embedded in my background as a moving image designer but recently this has evolved into more personal expressions of emotional states, against a backdrop of global pandemic and political upheaval. Whilst some seascapes appear beautifully calm and tranquil, others rage and boil. There is power, turmoil, beauty and hope
reflected in moments of movement and light. Still Life pieces draw upon moments of calm and reflection, shape and colour.....every painting has a reason, an idea, behind it and they are all different.
